Our team is writing to express our gratitude for your team’s efforts in completing the Michigan State University Tom Izzo Football Building to raving reviews by MSU. Without the dedication of the entire team – Steve Jewell, Josh Tomasek (Centennial), and all of Siemens and Centennial’s installers who worked long and hard to complete the project – we could not have completed the project so successfully without your efforts.

The dedication that Siemens’ field team put into the project is admirable. If anyone on the MSU or Granger team had a question or concern, Steve or Josh was always available to listen and respond accordingly. Our team always appreciated the attitude of “I don’t know, but I will check and get back to you.” – and then that happened – we never had to worry about follow up with your work items – a huge trust builder with our team. Granger and MSU were kept extremely well informed of successes and challenges alike. It is also worth noting that the commissioning and functional testing portion went extremely smoothly due to the dedication and responsiveness of Steve Jewell specifically. Steve was the driving force behind testing, commissioning, and successfully turning over the mechanical controls of the entire project.

Without Steve’s efforts, it is likely that the function and performance of the building would be nowhere near where it is today. Steve exemplifies dedication and customer service - to both the Granger and MSU teams. His interaction with the Granger team and MSU’s team was exceptional. Steve went out of his way to be responsive, to dig into tough issues and not let up until they were resolved, and to be upbeat and persistent throughout months of testing and construction.

Our team leaned on Steve and Siemens’ expertise in campus standards, complex design sequences, programming, and installation. The final product is something we can all be proud of, and functions just as the client intended. Steve’s ‘get it done’ mentality that he and his install crew from Centennial brought to the project helped ensure the project was done correctly. The Siemens team exceeded expectations and made the process of completing a very tough project enjoyable.

Steve participated in numerous workshops and weekly meetings, and brought humility, enthusiasm, and fresh ideas to each session. If the client or our team needed an update, Steve or the entire Siemens team did not stop until everyone was informed. It was a refreshing experience to collaborate with Steve and your team – all of whom clearly value proactive and timely communication, in their words and most importantly – in their actions.

Two prime examples of success with challenging conditions and timelines have been Akers Hall, MSU and the State Capitol Building, Lansing, Ml.

In each project, Centennial demonstrated their expertise with high level, distributed fire alarm systems under difficult circumstances.

In the Capitol Building project, a historical building, Centennial was required to negotiate extremely complex conditions dictated by legislative schedules and existing wiring pathways without disturbing building aesthetics. Their ability to manage the very special requirements and meet construction schedules was/is very commendable.

Centennial also demonstrated their technical fire alarm expertise and professional workmanship while meeting aggressive timelines in the 2014 Akers Hall fire alarm system replacement.

I am writing this to provide a general letter of recommendation for Centennial Electric, LLC. We recently completed a large fire alarm project together at Ionia Correctional Facility in Ionia, Michigan. It involved a full replacement of their existing fire alarm system including integration with the facilities security system for reporting. The project involved ten buildings consisting of multiple types; housing units, manufacturing facility and administrative buildings.

The project also required close coordination with the facility to ensure limited interruptions. It required providing fire watch when integrating the existing systems such as water flow and tamper switches. These were limited to very short time frames due to the planning and coordination with the facility manager. Centennial’s project manager, Brian Dobson, did an outstanding job of communicating and ensuring the entire team was informed of all activities taking place. It was clear that Brian and their field superintendent were in constant communication throughout the project, Brian attended every progress meeting prepared and ready to discuss the project.

Working inside a Correctional Facility is very difficult and challenging but Centennial Electric completed the work with exceptional workmanship and ahead of schedule. This expedited the closeout process and kept our final punch list very simple and minimal.

Tower Pinkster is currently working with Centennial Electric on a large generator replacement project. I am not personally involved on the project but know the project is running very smooth.

We have had nothing but positive experiences with Centennial Electric.

I would like to say thank you to your supervisor, your company and especially you for making the B55 Locker Room Renovation Project a great success. I know we had a couple issues with this project, but your dedication and communication were greatly appreciated. These traits are hard to find in today's working environment. Your supervisor, your company and you never wavered In regards to the time llne, working environment and the hours that were needed to complete the project. Throughout the whole project it was always about the team as a whole. This Included the plumbers, general trades and Emergent. I know at times that Emergent can be demanding, as well as me, but you never took offense to the demands.
