Michigan’s State Capitol is a unique national historic landmark making it hard to miss being topped by a lofty cast-iron dome. The Capitol Upgrade project sought to bring outdated mechanical and electrical systems up-to-date by relocating equipment into new code-compliant areas. As well as increase energy efficiency throughout the building to reduce energy cost and preserve the historic elements of the building once disturbed by fluctuating humidity, leaking pipes, and lack of a vapor barrier.
